True Fire Realistic Flames stencils templates shields freehand tools are essential to making True Fire Realistic Flames. You can print these or draw your own FREE true fire stencils templates shields freehand tools to any size you want. You can even draw them on huge poster size sheets -- or you can print them on poster sheets at you local copy shop.
You can draw True Fire Flames template stencils yourself on card stock with a pen or Sharpie because precisely identical geometric shapes are no where near as important as the basic ideas of the shapes and the variety of options that they give you.
Before cutting them out carefully apply clear plastic self-laminating adhesive sheets to each side of the card stock in order to proof them against paint, solvents, water, etc. This may take some practice to apply the adhesive sheets without curling them. For poster size templates you may want you use clear contact paper which comes on rolls instead of lamination sheets. With either you may have to overlap to get coverage but that's just fine.
Basically put the card stock down on a clean smooth table top. Then start the laminating by sticking down one edge of the lamination sheet along one edge of the card stock while holding the other edge of the lamination sheet up in the air with the other hand. It is best to go ahead and stick down the first edge to the table itself with a quarter inch or so distance past the card stock. This will give you a firm base of operation. The lamination sheet will pull off of the table top when done.
Next slowly lower your other hand holding the raised edge of the lamination sheet and roll the sheet down onto the card stock guiding, controlling and smoothing with your free hand. You are trying to keep the lamination sheet from curling, rippling, or getting air bubbles under it.
Again this may take a couple tries to get the hang of it but the card stock sheet costs a penny and the lamination sheet casts about ten cents so it isn't going to kill you financially to learn this process by trial and error. Once you have learned it you can make all of your freehand tools, stencils, and templates yourself from now on and save spending hundreds of dollars on manufactured stencils.
Repeat the lamination sheet process on the other side of the card stock and then cut out the shape of the stencil / template on the card stock with sharp scissors. Don't fret missing a line a little as exactness in the shape is not important -- smooth cut lines are important even if you have to work on them a little.
These home-made True Fire Realistic Flames template stencils are easily as durable as the "professional" quality template stencils and they only cost pennies each as compared to $15 to $20 for the store-bought True Fire Realistic Flames template stencils. or $159 for a "set"
Feel free to make up your own shapes as well. All of the shapes you ever see were invented by someone just like you -- they are not handed down by gods and they are not engineered by anyone smarter than you. Don't sell yourself short. You're as qualified to do anything like this as much as anyone else. Just make a bunch of wild, whippy, weird, irregular, asymmetrical curves. They will work as well as any other True Fire Realistic Flames Templates.
